I began this blog in October 2009. It has been in storage for several years. But, in honor of the 10th anniversary of it's existence, I hereby announce that the torch has been passed to the next generation of Grounded Girls and their Legacy Continues!
For a one time only special appearance I bring you; The GrandGrounded!
Look out world ; ) God knows what she will do.

Just Checking In
I haven't had much free time.
I've been a little busy.
I've been doing someoverdecorating.
Including my totally artistic, avante garde and individualistic 'one glass shade missing' chandelier.
AND playing musical doctor visits with the girls for things like Respiratory Infections and Knee Injuries and a Face Rash that looks like...ok..athletes foot to me. Because my daughters are such...um..Princessses. At least all Biggest needed was a ride home from work, because of a stomach flu. I'm just waiting for the plague to rain down on me.
More doc visits tomorrow and my library books are overdue and and ah.. ah.. AH CHOO!
Yeah. I'll check back in eventually.

I'm Back
But I'm just checking in. Because I have to leave again today. I've been back a few days but my work and personal schedule are on severe overload and I don't have time to complete a thought much less write a post. It will be about 2 more weeks until things level out...hopefully...so we'll consider this an extended blog break. I'm going to take my next-and last- free 20 minutes this morning and visit some of you-as many as I have a chance to get to! Be back in October.
Yay! October! My favorite month of all.
Except for the 'I get older' part ; )
In the meantime enjoy some awesome Moon Music courtesy of Littlests playlist.

They'll Be Begging to Go to Their Rooms
And my kids think I'm too tough?
Sometimes: My kids think I'm mean. They think my rules aren't fair. They think I'm unreasonable.
I think I'm too easy on them much of the time.
Perhaps they would be a little more appreciative if they had a different parent.
Like the one in Singapore who found my blog by Googling:
"I want to cane my daughter and cut off all her hair"
This was the actual link to the search.
They must have been very disappointed to find a Moon Music post about general goofiness and my daughters cutting their hair against My Will. The only canes I'll be using are the kind you walk with, when I'm old and a haircut is more likely to make ME cry than it will them. Can I understand what might have prompted this reaction from a parent? Yes actually. I can. I'm hoping they got it out of their system with that Google search and moved on to a better solution.
I feel like the most Awesome Parent in the planet right now. I'll be making sure mine know about it.
That'll fix the little buggers ; )

As if I didn't feel old enough already..
I leave on a quick 1 day business trip today, gimped out or no, and in the mean time I thought I'd share this thought:
AHHH! Where does the time go? How can this be happening?!!!
You see. Littlest brought home her paperwork for Senior pictures to be taken over the summer and info for doing her senior quotes for next years yearbook and such. My mind flashed on through the year to the endless organizing, testing, renting cap and gown, seeing her walk up to get that piece of paper that declares her free. (Which made me tear up a whole year in advance ) And a few months later she will be legally free to make her final decision on her future. I asked her to wait two more years and go to school before she makes that decision. But it's up to her and she's leaning toward, "I want to get on with it.". We shall see, so for now...
But...But...But....She's My Littlest!
Isn't she twelve? I'm pretty sure the last time I looked she was twelve.
How's time treating you?

Can You Hear It?
We're off on a business trip on Wednesday morning.
Our 26th wedding anniversary is also this week and by happy chance, we are working somewhere with a nice view, so we will be taking an extra day just for us! I'll be back over the weekend. In the meantime you may enjoy this song and video Biggest and DecentGuy introduced me too. It spoke to them. I found it spoke to me too. It spoke to all my worries. It spoke to all that I love.
I dedicate it to The Seamonkey and Our Family. Maybe you will find it speaks to you as well.
See Ya Soon : )

That Was Fast
I started this blog two years ago today. I'm amazed at how time has flown. When I began I had a just turned 14 year old, a just turned 16 year old and an engaged 22 year old. Now they are 16, 18 and 24 + married. Wow! My kids are growing out of my blog : ) But that's ok. When I started I was worried and frustrated with the girls and bored with my routine. Now I am worried, frustrated, and suffering from a lack of focus on any routine. I still have many stories I want to tell. I also love to read your blogs as much as I enjoy creating mine. But I need some time to gather my thoughts. So I'm giving myself a Blogcation. Not for long. Are you kidding? I'll probably be back next week. But for the moment I just want to say to those who have stopped by to read and comment and particularly those that have actually stuck around, You Guys Are The Best : )
THANK YOU FOR HUMORING ME!

What Do You Mean Your Neighbors Look At You Funny?
2 Things.
1. I have some knee problems and can't kneel on my knees.
2. My husband likes to decide to do something after he already left the house.
Which is how today I found myself:
In the Front Yard driveway standing in front of the lawnmower, wearing a short mumu type sundress, with one hand yanking it down in back, while I bent at the waist, attempting to read the small numbers under the spark plug, with a dental mirror, backwards.
Now the real question is why did my husband just walk past the window with a surfboard instead of a lawnmower?
I have to travel tomorrow and be gone a few days. If I miss you I will catch you when I get back.
In the meantime,
Have you entertained your neighbors recently?

Wednesday Morning 9:50 A M
This has the makings for a beautiful day. It will be a clear and a perfect for anything seventy five degrees.
I have a long list of things that must be done but as so often happens when I actually have the house to myself I have piddled away three hours in accomplishing nothing. The paperwork hangs over my head like a guillotine but I just avert my eyes and stare at my feet. My toenail polish is chipped. We are out of clean towels. The kitchen counters are still sticky from the 6 am rush to school. I even have a free microwave waiting for me at the end of a short drive but.....yeah. Am I tired of the game of setting 5.99 when I need 6 and pounding the keypad with my fist if I need 1.30 and nothing else will do? yeah...but..
What if.....what if I don't?
This morning I woke up with an unfortunate combination of Run Around Sue and AC/DC-You Shook Me stuck in my head in an alternating soundtrack. What exactly does that say about the state of my brain? The brain that has inexplicably begun to fail in the spelling and grammar department but has finally grasped math. Just what I always suspected, that's what.
Sometimes when I listen to myself I realize that I phrase things strangely and I sound like I'm speaking Pennsylvania Dutch.
There is a teacher I need to call and negotiate with but that would require using the phone. Today is not a phone day. Nope.
10:20
Well I have successfully diverted doing anything for another 30 minutes.

Mess With Your Head
The other day Littlest and I watched NOVA, Science NOW: How The Brain Works.Episode 5, on PBS. If you haven't seen it, I suggest it. Very fascinating. But when we saw/heard this it totally blew our minds.
Give it a try. It's fun!...and short.
Whoa.... Dude! Right? How cool is that?
Except I heard Fa Fa Fa sooo what does that say about my brain? ; )
I am OUTA HERE This Weekend thru Tuesday so be sure and have a Happy Valentines Day while I'm gone. Post me something sweet to read when I get back!

HalloWoot.
Not exactly.
I really do like Halloween. I love a good ghost story. I've always enjoyed a scary witch and the nice ones too. But for the past few years I've had a little trouble getting in the mood. For one thing, my house is the last one on the road and my house is set back. Really dark and spooky. I rarely get kids at the door. I guess they don't think it's worth it. They don't know that if they are brave enough to venture through...I buy the good stuff.
I have a pumpkin. But when it's 85 degrees outside and 80% humidity you can't carve them until the last minute. They start to mold and cave in within 24 hours. So, until Sunday I have to make do.
I don't have little kids to dress up and take out trick or treating anymore. No cookies to bake. No costumes to make. No school parties to help out with. So I have to make do.
And of course when the night is over....THIS....is all MINE.

Now there is a bright side to all of this. When I look around my house I notice that I really can save a lot of money on decorations.

| Again with my housekeeping. This is actually up 2 stories high and I took the picture from the stairs. Not that I'm defensive about it or anything. I cleaned it, |
